SEVERE WEATHER RESPONSE

We’re Here For You

It’s been a tough time for Aotearoa and we’re thinking of all of the communities who have been impacted by the severe weather in 2023.

On this page you’ll find what we’re doing to support you, what some other organisations are doing, as well as simply listening to what it is that we can help you with, or what you can help others with.

EXNZ Help & Resources

Message from our CEO, Richard Beddie

Our team is in constant contact with facilities to continue to listen to you, and if you do want one-on-one help anytime, just reach out. We want to make sure that you are supported, and everyone’s story is different. Even though you might be undergoing a similar experience to others, your particular challenge is going to be unique – whether it’s because of your members, your clients, or just the personal journey you’re going through, we want to make sure that we’re there for you.

Hawkes Bay Region Visit

On Tuesday the 28th of February, we visited the Hawkes Bay Region to listen and learn how we can best coordinate support. While we were there, we visited many of those affected in our community and came away with many actionable outcomes, which we will update here in the coming days/weeks.

Connecting on Zoom

On Thursday the 2nd of March at 11am, we held a zoom call to connect so we could listen, share, support each other, and discuss next steps so we can rebuild and move forward together.

We recorded the session for those that would like to watch it later, which you can view below, as well as access up-to-date information  on our response and external organisations (including Government). There are also some tips that were discussed on dealing with members and staff during this time.
